Comment: This variable records the degree of elaboration shown in the written responses made in the questionnaire text box. It might be that students who have thought carefully about their hoped-for future selves have also expressed those thoughts in an elaborate way. The numerical values record the number of statements made and how many words were used in writing the statements. 0 = Nothing written 1 = Statement up to 10 words 2 = Statement between 11 and 20 words 3 = Single statement longer than 20 words 4 = Two statements up to 20 words total 5 = Two statements more than 20 words total 6 = More than two statements up to 20 words total 7 = More than 2 statements greater than 20 words total Variables:
