On the bike path next to the Torrens River near Park St in Gilberton. Same place but showing the less fit rider collapsed on the seat. Standing on the swing bridge looking south towards the O-Bahn where it crosses the Torrens River. The swing bridge over the Torrens at the site of the old Gilberton Swimming Club (Image below).Plenty of wildlife to be seen along the way. An elaborate monument to an early pioneer ...  ...plus an angel with a palm frond. The Parklands near King William Road. The Popeye wharf in the Torrens lake. Riding towards the weir. We parked near the River Cafe, War Memorial Drive.
It was also nearby to the Par 3 Golf Course, our starting and finishing point.
Information from the net... The Gilberton Swimming Club was founded at about the time of World War 1. The pool where swimming took place was a sectioned-off  part of the Torrens with access steps cut into the bank.
There was a floating pontoon and a diving  platform
about 7 metres high.
A swing bridge connected the other side of the river and allowed access to the pool for many who lived nearby.
